Why We Exist
Most organizations face a structural problem when making critical IT decisions: the people offering advice often have a personal interest in the outcome. Consultants want follow-on implementation work. Vendors want to sell solutions. Internal teams may be protecting legacy decisions or positioning for budget increases.
ArcView Partners exists to provide what's often missing: independent investigation with no implementation conflict. We assess your situation, deliver factual findings, and leave. We don't build systems, manage projects, or sell solutions.
This model is deliberately constrained. We work on bounded engagements with defined scopes and fixed timelines. You receive clarity on what's actually happening, then you decide what to do about it.
The Practice
ArcView Partners conducts two types of engagements: internal IT investigations (assessments of your own technology, infrastructure, or IT organization) and external IT investigations (due diligence on acquisition targets or partners).
Each engagement is scoped upfront with defined questions to answer, evidence to examine, and deliverables. We don't do open-ended consulting. You receive a written report with findings and a clear recommendation, then the engagement concludes.
Typical Duration: 2–6 weeks, depending on scope and complexity.
Background
The Founder
ArcView Partners was founded by a former CTO and engineering leader with 20+ years of experience building and operating technology solutions. That background includes building and scaling infrastructure, leading platform migrations, managing vendor relationships, and navigating the politics of large IT decisions.
The practice was created specifically to offer what was often missing during critical technology decisions: an independent perspective free from implementation conflicts or vendor interests.

Technical Background
Deep experience across cloud infrastructure, distributed systems, platform architecture, databases, API design, cybersecurity practices, and DevOps/SRE methodologies. Lifelong devotion to create resilient, efficient and maintainable systems in critical environments. Comfortable reviewing code, assessing technical debt, and evaluating vendor claims against actual capabilities.
Leadership Experience
Former CTO & VP Engineering roles with responsibility for building teams, managing budgets, leading major technology initiatives, and advising boards on IT strategy and risk.
Why Clients Call Us
Organizations typically reach out when they face high-stakes IT decisions but don't trust the advice they're receiving. The cost of getting it wrong (whether it's approving a wasteful project, missing critical technical debt in an acquisition, or proceeding with a flawed vendor recommendation) often exceeds the cost of independent verification by an order of magnitude.
Common situations include:
- A vendor or consultant is pushing a solution, but the executive team suspects the recommendation is driven by the advisor's own interest rather than the organization's actual needs.
- An acquisition target claims strong technology capabilities, but the buyer needs independent verification before closing.
- Internal IT teams are presenting conflicting recommendations, and leadership needs an outside perspective to assess which path is sound.
- A major technology initiative is underway, but there's no clear evidence of progress, and growing concern that the project is off track.
Working With Us
Initial Conversation
We discuss your situation, the questions you need answered, and whether an independent investigation makes sense. This is a no-obligation conversation to determine fit.
Mandate
If we proceed, we define the scope, timeline, and deliverables in writing. You'll know exactly what will be investigated, what you'll receive, and what it costs before any work begins.
Investigation
We gather evidence, interview stakeholders, review systems and documentation, and assess claims against reality. We keep you informed of progress but operate independently.
Report & Presentation
We deliver a written report with factual findings and a clear recommendation. No ambiguity, no hedging. You'll know what we found and what we think you should do about it. We present our findings in a structured session with key stakeholders, ensuring clarity on all conclusions before formal handover.
Selectivity: We take on a limited number of engagements each year and decline work that doesn't fit our model or where we can't add clear value.
