IT Governance Assessment
Energy Sector
Context
Executive leadership needed an independent answer to a straightforward question: could they trust the information they were receiving about IT delivery and risk exposure?
Engagement
We conducted an assessment of governance practices, project reporting, and organizational dynamics. This involved cross-referencing reported project status against commit activity and deployment logs, reviewing how risks were escalated or not through management layers, and conducting confidential interviews across organizational levels.
Findings
Our investigation established where reporting was reliable and where it diverged from technical reality. We identified specific patterns: milestones reported complete that had never been tested in production, tracking systems that had not been updated in months, and a reporting chain where bad news was systematically softened at each level.
Outcome
Leadership was able to act on verified information rather than conflicting internal accounts.
